Community Transportation in Douglas County

Mercy Express provides transportation for non-emergency medical trips in communities along I-5 Corridor. Hours: Mon.-Fri., 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (flexible).

Douglas Rides is a network of community transportation services, including Dial-a-Ride, for Douglas County, Oregon. Douglas Rides offers transportation services for Roseburg, Umpqua Community College, Yoncalla, Drain, Elkton, Sutherlin, Winston, Myrtle Creek, Riddle, Canyonville, and Reedsport.

Dial-A-Ride

   Shared-ride, door-to-door service is provided.    No fare is charged, except Reedsport. Donations are accepted everywhere.
   Service is open to the general public, however older adults and persons with disabilities receive priority if space is limited.    People with hearing or speech impairments can call 711 , the Oregon Telecommunications Relay Service.
   Advance reservation (prior day or sooner) are preferred, but same day requests are accepted on a space available basis.    To schedule a ride or for information on ride availability please call 1-888-232-8121 or you may make a ride reservation by clicking on the ride reservation icon.

U-Trans Public Transit

   U-Trans provides public bus service to many Douglas County communities.


Paratransit

   Paratransit services are provided by U-Trans.

APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED

The Douglas County Special Transportation Advisory Committee (STAC) is currently accepting applications the following committee position:

  • Position # 7 - Term July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. Not a position representing transportation service providers.

Members of the STAC assist Douglas County by identifying the transportation needs of older adults and persons with a disability as well as providing assistance in the transportation program funding decision making process, transportation program planning and developing services to enhance public transportation access. The STAC usually meets twice a year.

Applications may be picked up and returned to the Board of Commissioners’ Office, Douglas County Courthouse, 1036 SE Douglas – Room 217, Roseburg.  For electronic application visit STAC Application  or you may call (541) 440-4202.  The application deadline is 5:00 p.m.  on June 7, 2017.


Announcement of Service Area Adjustment
Douglas Rides Community Transportation now provides round trip service from the Glendale and Azalea areas to Roseburg on the 1st Monday of each month.
